Performing and Learning in Real Time has been used with outstanding results for
Team
Building
When a group of people come to the simulation together, they quickly enact
the same patterns of working together, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict
management and change management that they use on the job. In a non-threatening
environment they now have the opportunity to learn directly about the effect
they have individually and collectively on each other and on business decisions.
They can experiment with new ways of working together and get immediate feedback
on the impact of their efforts on organizational performance. To succeed in
the simulation significant changes are made in organizational, team and individual
work practices, most of which can be immediately implemented back on the job.
Inter-Group
Team Building
Inter-departmental coordination is a challenge to most organizations. The
ability to have departments and groups pull together towards common goals
is critical to business success. When groups of people who must work better
together participate in the RealTime experience the results are often amazing.
Entering the simulation in the same groups and work relationships as they
operate in back home, the same tensions, conflicts, miscommunications and
problem patterns quickly emerge. During the first half of the simulation,
as the participants struggle with getting their collective act together, and
as they try to resolve their issues, they do so mainly in relation to the
simulation. Yet, as the learning progresses they are ready to have frank and
constructive conversations about their realities at work. Our approach helps
members from various groups to unite together to "beat the simulation"
and ensure the organization succeeds, sometimes achieving amazing results.
In the process of doing so, the participants develop and implement new ways
of working together they strongly commit to apply back home. RealTime is the
most powerful method for lowering barriers and building bridges between work
groups we know of.
Transforming
Organizational Culture
To succeed organizations need effective business and operational
processes. To perform and sustain success in the face of a highly demanding
and constantly changing business environment, the organization needs people
who are highly competent, committed and who have strong work relationships.
When members of the same organization enter the RealTime simulation they quickly
re-create their home organization’s culture. To support organization
culture change efforts, we focus attention and feedback on the difference
between the current culture and the one you are trying to create. Various
processes are used to support people behaving in ways that are consistent
with the new culture in the simulated organization. People get to try out
new ways of acting in a low risk environment and experience the impact of
that new culture on personal and organizational performance.
